Samson has been with the Rajasthan Royals for 11 of his 13 professional seasons as a cricketer. Over a decade, his contributions to the team’s progress have caught the attention of many.

2013

Samson made his Rajasthan Royals debut in 2013 and that year pocketed the IPL Emerging Player of the Tournament award. The then 19-year-old scored 206 runs for RR in 2013 and claimed six opponents by stumping. He also contributed with the bat. Catching 13 in all, he was strong in the field too.


2014

Sanju improved on his debut performance with 339 runs that included two remarkable half-centuries in 2014. Retained by RR in 2014, the talented cricketer had 17 sixes and 25 fours. He then completed a big hitting upgrade.


2015

Samson’s performance at IPL 2015 saw his hitting total reduced to 204 runs. The batter’s highest score (76) also saw him make his only half-century of the season for the Royals in 2015.


2018

Before he came back to smash 441 runs for the franchise at IPL 2018, Sanju spent two (2) seasons at the Delhi Capitals (DC). He roared into relevance at RR with his big-hitting performances that included three half-centuries and nineteen 6s.


2019

342 runs in 12 games is a decent turnover from Samson for RR at IPL 2019. The cricketer secured a century and +149 strike rate in the second season of his most-recent stint as an RR player.


2020

Samson continued in his fine form at RR with 375 runs in 14 matches at IPL 2020. The season ended for RR’s marksman with three half-centuries at a +158.9 strike rate, a career-best for the veteran.


2021

Sanju assumed the captaincy at RR in 2021. To kick off this season he had scored his second highest ever season total (14 games: 484 runs). In a season of record-breaking exploits he followed a marvellous 119 v Punjab Kings (PBKS) with several more high scores.


2022

Riding high on career best numbers at the end of 2022, captain Samson played in 17 games and scored 458runs, including two half-centuries. He earned 14 catches and two stumpings in the first half of this season.


2023

Another fine season for the young cricketer at IPL continued as a member of RR. His total of 362 runs from 14 matches this season also meant three half-centuries, a catch ‘n a stumping for all and sundry alike.


2024

This year broken all previous records for Captain Sanon in IPL. It was one more new high with his 2021 marks for RR. In 16 matches and 531 runs scored overall, the skipper made five amply decorations: a course of 153.4 half-centuries.


2025*

Samson hit 224 runs in the first 7 matches of IPL2025. The old bat has managed a half-century at this stage in play and achieved 2 super century rates for performances done so far¦ So if things continue like they are
